I heard this documentary was great, and really makes the case that free speech comes at a high price these days... definitely going to rent it when I get a chance.
Quoted: ”Shut Up And Sing” travels with the Dixie Chicks, from the peak of their popularity as the national-anthem-singing darlings of country music and top-selling female recording artists of all time, through the now infamous anti-Bush comment made by the groups lead singer Natalie Maines in 2003.

Looking forward to seeing this, I have a feeling it'll make me nostalgic for my NYU days!
Quoted: Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist is a comedy about two people thrust together for one hilarious, sleepless night of adventure in a world of mix tapes, late-night living, and, live, loud music.

I love rock biopics - especially 'Velvet Goldmine.' Definitely looking forward to checking out the one on Bob Dylan.
Quoted: I'm Not There occasions some very Dylan-esque mumbling and fidgeting from Christian Bale and young British actor Ben Whishaw, but the only full-on impersonation of the man is by a woman, Cate Blanchett.

This movie looks like it might be cool - Julie Taymor tends to put together some really creative stuff. It's set to the music of the Beatles, with actors playing Joplin and Hendrix-like supporting roles. Bono and Eddie Izzard are in it too!
Quoted: Set against the tumult of the 1960s, Julie Taymor's hallucinogenic musical follows the arduous journey of star crossed lovers Jude (Jim Sturgess) and Lucy (Evan Rachel Wood) as they and a group of musicians are swept up in the raging waters of the volatile counterculture movement.

Interesting story about the woman Jennifer Hudson's character is based on in "Dreamgirls." I'd like to know what Diana Ross thinks about all this...
Quoted: Like Effie, the "Dreamgirls" character based in part on her life, Florence Ballard had a triumphant return to the stage after her fall from grace.
