For the Gluten-Averse, a Menu That Works - New York Times

Another reason why NY is awesome... I ate at Risotteria and didn't even realize their food was gluten-free!

Quoted: New bakeries and pizzerias that prepare gluten-free foods have popped up all over New York City, and restaurants that were already celiac-friendly have expanded their menus. Risotteria is a nationally known hub for people with celiac disease.

It's not all gluten-free; I think about half of the risottos are and the pizza you can opt for gluten-full or gluten-free. The gluten-free is really tasty, though! I split a pizza with my glutard friend and it was delic!

Haha glutard - is that the PC term?

Seattle Newcomer Examiner - Curry Conundrum: Where's Seattle's amazing Indian cuisine?

My latest blog post. Mom, I think you'll enjoy the last paragraph :)

Quoted: Seattle Newcomer Examiner - Seattle's got some fantastic restaurants, like Wild Ginger and Palace Kitchen. But there's still something missing - the South Asian equivalent (that is, a restaurant/lounge with authentic but inventive Indian food and great ambiance).

Where do the unusual names for Chinese menu items come from? - Slate Magazine

Fascinating, I had no idea! I've eaten "ants climbing a tree" - quite delicious.

Quoted: In preparation for this summer's Olympic Games, the Chinese government has recommended new English translations for more than 2,000 Chinese dishes to appeal to Western tourists. The menu items in question include "bean curd made by a pockmarked woman," "ants climbing a tree," and "chicken without sexual life."

    Mon Elisa's - Bainbridge Island

This cute little Italian place is basically right off the ferry in Bainbridge - in fact, it's walking distance. The pasta, sauces, breads, and even some cheeses are all made on-site and they're absolutely delicious. Also some great wines to choose from! Hard to be believe such a tiny place could be so good!

Quoted: Mon Elisa's - Fresh Pasta and Sauces daily on Bainbridge Island.
