This is the first tornado to hit Brooklyn in 118 years. Something's screwy.
Quoted: The thunderstorm that tore through New York City on Wednesday unloaded 3 inches of rain in an hour and spawned a tornado that ripped the roofs off dozens of Brooklyn homes. It was the borough's first twister since the National Weather Service started keeping reliable records in 1889,

Hope the snow storm isn't too bad... although I wouldn't mind everything being all covered in white when I get home :)
Quoted: A deadly winter storm brought snow and sleet to the Northeast on Thursday as crews worked to restore power to hundreds of thousands hit earlier.

Storms definitely seem to be getting more severe. I heard this one was so bad people didn't even make it into work today because the subways were down. People are being told to just stay home! Stay safe, guys...
Quoted: Torrential rain blamed for at least one death flooded subways and rail lines and delayed flights early Wednesday at New York's three major airports and thousands of commuters were stranded for two hours or more.

Whoa... hope this ends up being all hype. Stay safe east coast people!

Wow, I can't even imagine 6 feet of snow. I'd never heard of Lake-effect snow before. The visuals for this article are pretty cool, although sounds like the weather's causing havoc... glad I'm not there.
Quoted: While the northern Plains and Northeast shiver in dangerously cold temperatures, the folks in upstate New York are keeping warm shoveling snow -- lots of snow. Since Sunday, the small towns of Parish and Mexico have recorded more than 6 feet of snow, and forecasters with the National Weather Service say it isn't over yet.

i think it means no tornadoes... i remember a weak tornado hit NJ one year and everyone was up in arms
That NJ tornado over 11 trees in our yard. Expect more of this as global warming continues.
