Oh I loved this! If you liked this, I recommend this great piece from the New Yorker last year about Indian cooking (based on the sensory details of the memories she had of her mom in the kitchen as a child). It's great because she turns it into a larger story about growing up the child of Indian immigrants...

Oh yeah, even though she's stunning, she hardly ever has a big happy smile in her author photos... dunno why, it's just a thing I guess...
