CBS Axes Reality Show After 1 Episode - MSN TV News

Okay, I admittedly really enjoyed seeing George Takei sing country music. But after that, I had no interest in watching the show because really, how could anything top that? Also, one of the show's judges claimed to be on Gilmore Girls... But if I can't remember him being on that show, he was definitely NOT a central character.

Quoted: CBS' 'Secret Talents of the Stars' is gone after only 1 episode. The first airing Wednesday had former "Star Trek" actor George Takei singing "On the Road Again." Only 4.6 million people tuned in — and thousands tuned away as the hour continued.

Which Oscar dresses were best? - Slate Magazine

Slate's Oscar Fashion Report Card. Definitely not your typical lifestyle mag rundown :)

Quoted: Thanks for joining me once again to discuss this year's Oscar frocks. I was going to start by asking you who had the best dress, but we can narrow it down a bit tonight: Who had the best black dress, and who had the best red one?

Britney Spears has a "conservator." What does that mean? - Slate Magazine

Leave it to Slate to explain the hard-hitting issues...

Quoted: No one inspires Explainer readers quite like Britney Spears. In the past year, her antics have spurred questions about involuntary commitment, restraining orders, hair-based drug tests, and the supposed dangers of parental nudity. Now the pop star's father has been named her temporary "conservator." What's that?

How the backlash against Juno started. - Slate Magazine

I didn't realize there was a backlash against Juno. I thought it was a great film, but I can understand why some people don't think it's Oscar material...

Quoted: Now that Juno has been nominated in four major Oscar categories (best picture, best actress, best original screenplay, and best director) and become the highest-grossing of the five best picture nominees (last week, it passed the $100 million mark), it's become a movie that one must take a position on.

Fineman: Obama’s Oprah Challenge | Newsweek Voices |

I didn't actually see any of the Oprah/Obama footage, but I'm not sure if I agree with the writer identifying Oprah's star power as a problem for Obama...

Quoted: Barack Obama couldn't have hoped for a better endorser than Oprah. Problem was, she outshone the candidate.

Cho Bares All in Burlesque Show - MSN TV News

I love Margaret Cho - I'm sort of curious to check this out.

Quoted: Margaret Cho bares all in obscenity-laced burlesque show. Her new off-Broadway show, "The Sensuous Woman," has less standup comedy and much more burlesque — a significant departure for the Korean-American comic who has built up a cult following thanks to her 2001 "Notorious C.H.O." tour and TV specials.
