Fascinating paintings by an artist from the 1920s who was essentially 'predicting' what NY and other metropolises would look like in the future. All the buildings look a little like the Chrysler building and some of these are weirdly accurate.
Quoted: Pick up a reprinting of a 1929 book by Hugh Ferriss titled 'The Metropolis of Tomorrow.' Ferriss was the preeminent architectural draftsman of his time who, through moody renderings of skyscrapers, virtually invented the image of Gotham.

A must-have book for people living in the NY area. A lot of the stuff is common knowledge, but things like parking lots, tolls, train maps, and theater/stadium seating charts are so useful!
Quoted: Not For Tourists Guide to New York City features clear, easy-to-read maps and graphics, as well as listings of key services, restaurants, shops, schools, entertainment venues, public transportation, parks, and more.

secret wars comic book covers. you can't tell me this isn't sweet~ :P
FYI for the comic geeks - notice the lower left hand corner. this was originally shown to show 'first run' comics vs. reprints. the reprints had bar-codes. also if you notice they show the black custome of spiderman (which you later learn is venom).
