Yay, congrats to Audrey and Peter, friends of mine from NY!

Eh, I understand why 'Rent' is closing. Even though it was revolutionary at the time, it's not really counterculture anymore... AIDS has taken on a different character and the East Village isn't exactly for starving artists these days. Still, it's an importance musical and I coud see it doing great as a revival one day since it captures a particular time so well...
Quoted: Report: Counterculture musical 'Rent' to close June 1 after 12 years on Broadway.

This is hands down my favorite Broadway musical... a foul-mouthed version of Sesame Street, a song called "What Do You Do with a BA in English?" and puppet sex. How can you go wrong? I hope it comes to Seattle!
Quoted: ‘‘Avenue Q’’ prepares to take a company on the road for the first time. Let the casting begin.

1 FaverQuoted: The performances are roundly wonderful. You respect and admire these characters even as they make reprehensible decisions and then try to correct them, working together to create a satisfying—and refreshingly hopeful—climax. This is an intellectual play that isn't afraid to be romantic, and despite its different languages, in the end you can't help but understand perfectly.
