Michael Pollan's In Defense of Food. - Slate Magazine

A review of Michael Pollan's latest book, "In Defense of Food."

Quoted: Buy a hog? An entire hog? Cut it up and put the pieces in a freezer? I'm a fan of Michael Pollan's work, but he does have a tendency to hurtle himself into the stratosphere like an errant missile, then plummet back to earth and casually pick up where he left off.

The Assault on Reason - Al Gore - Book - Review - New York Times

Ha, yeah Al Gore! I'm loving his new tell-it-like-it-is approach to life.

Quoted: Al Gore has decided to lay it all on the line with a blistering assessment of the Bush administration.

The New American Story: Books: Bill Bradley

I thought Bill Bradley was an engaging speaker (and some of that NJ wit shone through!) While I didn't agree with everything he said (or the way he said it), I think his attitude is inspiring and that he's onto something with this book.

Quoted: He doesn't have an exploratory committee, but the former Democratic senator and one-time presidential hopeful certainly has a platform in this thoughtful policy agenda. Bradley scathingly critiques Republican ideology and presents a liberal-centrist program that advances a multilateralist foreign policy, spending cuts (including Pentagon sacred cows) and tax hikes to reduce the deficit.
