The case against Thanksgiving leftover recipes. - Slate Magazine

Haha, Slate. They like to play devil's advocate on all the issues, including Thanksgiving leftover recipes. Anyway, I see their point. Why not just eat leftovers as, well, leftovers?

Quoted: The case against Thanksgiving leftover recipes - that Turkey samosa won't bring your feast back to life.

What kind of Thanksgiving turkey is best for the environment? - Slate Magazine

How to buy an environmentally conscious turkey (no, I don't mean a turkey that loves Al Gore, ha)... In many cases, it's best to go as local as possible - it requires the least expenditure of energy. If you really want to go local, there are wild turkeys running around my town in NJ... those are some mean birds.

Quoted: I'm wondering how I might go about finding a green turkey to serve on Thursday night—or at least a greener turkey than the ones I've served in years past. Any tips?

The debate over "the war on Christmas" spreads to Thanksgiving. - Slate Magazine

Fascinating Slate piece analyzing whether Thanksgiving is a religious or secular holiday... I didn't realize this issue was being so hotly debated.

Quoted: Anyone who has ever had to listen to foodies argue over which wine pairs best with turkey knows that Thanksgiving can inspire vehement—and tiresome—disagreement. But of all the questions connected with our celebration of Thanksgiving, none provokes as much heat as the debate over religion's place at the table.
