It really drives me crazy to hear liberals talk of John McCain as though he's different from the rest of the republican party. Maybe there was a time when that was true. that time is long over.

The U.S. EPA has denied California the waiver it needed to enact a state law requiring a 30 percent reduction in vehicle greenhouse-gas emissions by 2016. Said EPA chief Stephen Johnson, "The Bush administration is moving forward with a clear national solution -- not a confusing patchwork of state rules -- to reduce America's climate footprint from vehicles." That solution: Do as little as possible. The EPA had delayed so long on making the decision that California sued to get 'em to hurry up, obviously hoping for a different outcome. Sixteen other states would have adopted California's regulations had the EPA OK'd the waiver;

I think it's ridiculous that Snow says that $250k fine is a serious punishment for someone as well off as Libby. And, I'm sure Bush will eventually pardon him, after all, what does he have to lose? his ratings are already as low as they can go.

While it's good to see movement...it sounds like there are some really huge flaws in this bill that are going to muck up the system even more.

While I don't think the proposals by Bush are really the best way to combat climate change, I was amazed to hear him use the phrase "combat the serious threat of global climate change" It's about time he got with the scientific community!
