NPR : Exploring the Sacred, Modern Along the Ganges

NPR is doing a 5 part series on the Ganga...should be interesting.

Quoted: India's holy Ganges River provides sustenance to more people than the population of the United States. A 1,550-mile journey along Mother Ganga offers a unique glimpse of what lies behind the complexities of India today.

NPR : Taking in -- and Floating on -- the Ganges River

Did anyone else hear this on NPR this morning -- fun story... it's nice to hear a different persective about the Ganga.

Quoted: If you see a body floating down the Ganges, it's usually safe to assume it's dead. Devout Hindus deposit the remnants of their dead into the river, as they believe it purifies the soul. But don't be too sure. Body-surfing has arrived in this, the holiest of waterways.
