Palin, McCain differ on global warming - Ben Adler and Avi Zenilman - Politico.com

Seriously. the last thing we need is a global warming skeptic elected to the vp seat.

Quoted: The Alaska governor disagrees with the top of her ticket and the party platform. Count Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin among the skeptical: John McCain's running mate isn't sure human behavior is responsible for global warming.

ok, here I am asking a question of Gov Gregoire and Candidate Dino Rossi in the WA state governor's race. please go to youtube and watch the video and give it a good rating so that it's picked as one of the final 5! (and make fun of me later...) Even if you don't live in the state, you can still vote on the video :-)

Quoted: Sudha, from Spokane asks: Do you believe that global warming is caused by human activities? If so, do you support science based and enforceable caps to limit...

See at a glance where the presidential contenders stand on climate and energy issues | Grist

the differences between obama and clinton on energy seem small until you look at nuclear. obama supports it and clinton has a better stance of wanting to figure out the waste storage and other problems before advancing it further. This is a huge deciding factor for me. I definitely don't want a pres who is going to replace global warming pollution w/ nuclear pollution.

David Crane - We're Carboholics. Make Us Stop. - washingtonpost.com

short, interesting article on the need for cap and trade (from an industry exec)

Quoted: I am a carboholic. As Americans, we are all carboholics, but I am more so than most. The company I run, NRG Energy, emits more than 64 million tons of carbon dioxide (CO 2 ) into the atmosphere each year -- more than the total man-made greenhouse gas emissions of Norway.

Can 'green chic' save the planet? | csmonitor.com

the best point in the article is towards the end -- it all comes back to people getting involved with government and being responsible for our democracy.

Quoted: So while faddism may influence people's marketplace choices, many still ask the million-dollar question: What will happen when the canvas bag-toting, hybrid car-driving, "green" credit-card-wielding (GE just announced a card with carbon footprint-reducing rewards) consumer goes to the polls?

"That's the key," says Jon Isham, a professor of international environmental economics at Middlebury College in Vermont. "That's where we need to go above and beyond the idea of a fad."

Quoted: Ecofriendly buying choices alone can't sustain America's lifestyle, experts warn – unless 'looking green' becomes 'voting green.'
