IT'S OUT!

saw this in the theaters when it was out and looooooved it. hope the dvd has extended stuff!

saw the movie with my friends yesterday. the most amazing movie i've seen in awhile. partly because i love dave chappelle, the roots, kanye west, common, jill scott, erykah badu, the fugees, etc....

the only artist i wasn't aware of is dead presidents (which i'll have to look into).

all in all - funny, smart, happy movie. it reminded me of andy kaufman's final performance. where he just wanted to surround himself with happiness and how at the end of the show he took all his audience and took them for milk and cookies. block party reminded me of it cause it was filled with just super happy people who enjoyed themself - and dave looked like he had a blast as well.

completely forgot that chapelle's movie Block Party is out today.
anyone up for fighting the crowds to see this bad boy?

these were the peeps that played on a 4 hr show.... for Dave Chappelle...

Harold Gomez did an opening bit, then Dave Chappelle, then Mos Def, then Dave Chappelle some more, then Erykah Badu. At the end, Mos Def, Erykah and Dave played some music and that was it. All in all it was about a 4 hour show though, definitely longer than I was expecting. (but too long is better than too short, right?!??!)
