click to playoooo... this was the first time i ever saw jill scott. before this i didn't even know who she was. i was familiar with the roots - and was watching the mtv special (this video / audio quality is poor - but you get the idea).
thsi is the live performance of jill scott + the roots. and yes, her voice is that amazing. FYI - she's also featured in 'Block Party.'
if you've never heard of her... you need to give her a listen.

click to playokay... yes it's very pop-ie and catch-ie... but i love this song. love the chorus by mariah carey (hawt) and the ode to sin city (yes i'm a geek!) is sweet.

these guys were one of the opening acts for blackalicious yesterday at the showbox. amazingly i thought they were better then blackalicious. mainly cause of their stage presence - the way they worked the crowd was amazing + it's always great when artists aren't singing about tits & ass.
lifesavas - check them out.
FYI - track #11 Resist is amazing - especially live.Quoted: Amazon.com: Spirit in Stone: Music: Lifesavas by Lifesavas
