Quoted: A bite into any of the pastries suggests that everything is handmade and fresh; the flurry of dough-plying behind the counter confirms it. The apple Danish and spinach quiche are good, and the croissants and brioches are outstanding, as is the pain au chocolat. If you need incentives to drag yourself out of bed, you won't find many better than this.

just getting back from this place - here's my review... it was tooooo hot. the place is more of a 'dinner' place. the whole place was packed with tables - there really wasn't a 'bar' area to speak of. we had 2 groups with about 7 peeps each and we couldn't all hang out together. we ended up getting two tables - away from each other, which made it awkward and not very social.

all in all - a great place for a group of 4 for dinner - not good for a larger group to go out looking for a 'bar' atmosphere.

did i mention it was hot? it was way too hot and humid - all their windows were open, but they stuck us in a booth (the booth was the only place that could support 7 peeps). moving forward (for the summer especially) gonna have to look for places with AC.

Sustainable Ballard is looking for help: "We urgently need someone with basic web skills (familiarity with CSS a bonus), and some spare time and dedication, to help us maintain the webpage. The possibility to develop the webpage as a tool for Sustainable Ballard exists, however, immediate help is needed with just updating, requiring between 5 to 7 hours per week (negotiable). Web development software could be used, but NO Microsoft FrontPage (sorry)."

Sustainable Ballard is a newly registered non-profit organization developing a grassroots vision of sustainability for the community of Ballard. Sustainability roughly means "meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs," and it is a philosophy which affects every sphere of human activity.
