so i went on a hike to mount si and here's what i've learned.
A. bring the right gear - it'll help you out.
gear i would suggest.
1. power goo - amazing stuff that tastes like cake frosting that gives you a boost of energy.
2. the right shoes / jacket (waterproof)
3. a backpack with an extra sweatshirt to keep warm (you'll need this when you get to the top)
4. water
5. towl + change of clothes (leave in car)
6. banana(s)B. climbing mount si was like a night of heavy drinking.
how you ask?
1. the night starts out okay - you feel strong and you're having one drink after another. your friend tells you to slow down your pace - but you say i can take it.
2. you start to feel the drinks and you start to slow you pace.
3. you feel ill - like your about to throw up and then you realize it's only midnight and you still have two hours til the bar closes (in seattle)
4. you take a breather - you go on auto pilot, you're hurting but you take one small sip after another.
5. finally finally it's done. the bars are closing - it's the let out, and you're just sore all over and tired and all you wanna do is just go home.
6. someone suggests food - you're not done yet buddy. it's easier but you're still going.
7. you finally get home and get some rest.
8. the next day your whole body hurts.

This has been my experience this season so far, as well.
1 FaverViewed: 4 TimesQuoted: The volume of snow makes the descent to the lake extremely difficult and Seattlest wasn’t interested in becoming another Snow Lake fatality. Normally hikers drop several hundred feet down to the shores, but this summer that won’t be reasonably safe for at least another month
