just finished watching this movie - and i gotta say i really enjoyed it.
it's basically a semi-biographical film about the life of Ip Man. haven't heard of him? neither did i - until the end of the credits where it explains that he was the first to teach Wing Chun openly and that there are over 2 million practitioners of Wing Chun because of him.
and of course you might have heard of one of his students... BRUCE LEE! that's right. Ip Man is the teacher of Bruce Lee.
the movie doesn't cover all of that. it just covers the years during WW2 during the Japanese occupation of China.
i would highly recommend watching the movie if you're a martial arts movie buff.

A new spin on Chinese Martial Arts for me.
It's interesting and entertaining, and I like his attitude and pace as he explains it.
