just finished watching the first episode of Black. White. it's about two families living in one house living the days as the opposite ethnicity and then spending the evenings together exchanging their experiences. the filming lasted 6 weeks with the same families - thus the show follows the progress of these peeps.
overall watching it this was my take. good show overall. shocking some of the things they discussed / felt. the white family : dad believed that the color of skin has nothing to do with how people are treated. so much so that he was blind to the subtle context of conversation. the mother is a hippie with her outlook stuck in the 70's. the daughter is very intelligent and she seemed liked the saniest out of the lot.
the black family : the dad seemed more curious to re-afirm his beliefs of how white people act / feel towards blacks when no blacks are around. they didn't go into the mother much. the son seems very relaxed - like the lazy version of the white dad. he believes whatever racism there was in the past, it no longer applies now.
the coolest / most interesting thing about the show was their conception of what they felt the opposite ethnicity was / is / acted. overall - i'm gonna follow the show.

I think this is a little misleading since it's based on YOY changes..and Seattle was ranked the #8 BEST place last year.
