just finished v. 02 of MORE+1.
it still follows the template i created last year but i've updated it a bit for better messaging up front so that users know a little bit more about us. the portfolio has been added and enhanced. i think this method is easier to browse.
i only wish i could have shown more of the work i did last year. i could only add 2 new things even though we did about 10 projects. :(

paging vs. scrolling for content : overall summary - scrolling is better then paging.
Evaluation of the average time (in seconds) taken to read each passage revealed a significant difference between the three groups [F (2,28) = 3.42, p < .05] (S.D. Paging = 72.4, S.D. Full = 53.5, S.D. Scrolling = 57.89; See Figure 4). Post hoc analysis found reading time in the Paging condition to be significantly slower than the Full or Scrolling conditions.

Here, he demonstrates—for the first time publicly—his intuitive, "interface-free," touch-driven computer screen, which can be manipulated intuitively with the fingertips, and responds to varying levels of pressure. 1. people love free shit. his examples of ugly sites which make money are all FREE
2. people love content over eye candy. eye candy is good for a quick look - but that's about it. think of it like this. you might date a super model - but unless she's got a head on her shoulders you might not want to marry her.
3. association through over exposure. this is something advertisers love and designers hate. association through over exposure - which basically is if you over expose a consumer - regardless of design - they will make the connection. example - ebay is ugly - but the over exposure of the site to users will make them associate ebay with THE online auction site.there are others but i won't go into it now. all in all - the article is 'interesting' to read but completely wrong in my opinion. just cause a site is ugly doesn't mean it'll convey trust, simplicity, etc... it's other factors.
