This appears to have the best-of-class feature set of any small office raid server I've seen so far: RAID 5/1/1+0, firewall, VPN routing with any of the existing protocols, Active Directory Service, SMB/CIFS, NFS, backup for LAN workstations, and built-in UPS control. At $1000 for 1 TB, it's not quite price-competitive with the older Buffalo TeraStation ($650 for 1 TB these days), but the extra features essentially give you all of the desired small office infrastructure features in one box, which is probably worth the price. The real question is, does it live up to its claims?

P.S. Thanks for the tagging tip, Brad. I've been experimenting with too many bookmarking interfaces, and I apparently didn't keep them straight.
