Bush alters rules for interrogations - Politics - MSNBC.com

Quoted: President Bush signed an executive order Friday spelling out new interrogation techniques for terrorism suspects that bar cruel and inhumane treatment, humiliation or denigration of prisoners' religious beliefs. [!]

WOW!! This is a surprisingly positive step in the Bush presidency. Too bad all the Abu Garib and Guantanamo Bay human rights violations had to occur to make this change in policy. I wonder if the CIA will actually comply...something tells me to the contrary.

BBC NEWS | South Asia | Indian woman strips in dowry row

Quoted: A woman in west India strips to her underwear in public as part of a dispute with her family over a dowry payment.

Good for her! I'm glad some one had the guts to do this publicly. This whole dowry situation is absolutely uphauling, and the Indian government has frankly put this major human rights issue on the back burner while thousands of women continue to suffer every year.
