AGREED (w/article, not title) and my $0.02:
1) why do women always seem to be more critical of each other? we want change (equal pay, equal opportunities, equal this & that), yet on the verge of it, we're are afraid to support and embrace the one that can truly change this country,
2) Alexis de Tocqueville wrote in 1830s that American Democracy owes its supremacy to its women b/c they are the mores of the nation; women are the ones who bring about change, hope, and healthy mores b/c they instill it in the youth - the future. So if as Americans we are truly desiring a restoration of hope and a fervor for change, why NOT elect the woman?? Why NOT vote for the one with the experience and perseverance to turn those hopes into a reality?
Yes, have the "audacity to hope" but elect someone who can make it happen, not just someone who will blind you with the glory of hope and forget to deliver...

Quoted: The CIA Inspector General's report declassified on Monday makes it painfully clear: We missed 9/11 because no one in Washington talks to each other.
so it's back to the basics...COMMUNICATION is key to saving lives, and running a country. Not implementing a "big brother" attitude, not criminalizing immigrants, not creating religious tension, not pointing fingers, but rather TALKING to each other.

Quoted: As some of the leading presidential candidates trooped before the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Kansas City this week, there was one thing largely missing at the lectern -- veterans of foreign wars.
that's really interesting that the 2008 election will be the first since WWII that neither party will have veterans running for office. While the immergence of civilian candidates in my opinion is positive and more reflective of the today's American population, part of me can't help but wonder if maybe someone with front-line, military leadership, would be better suited as the Commander in Chief during this time of war. I don't mean the kind of military experience of current President Bush, more along the lines of McCain, Truman, Eisenhower, etc.

just got back from this hike with my hiking buddies. it was a great hike, and personally worth the drive. the weather was absolutely perfect, and the lake was pristine and serene, nestled away in the Olympic Mountains. We dipped our toes in the chilly, yet refreshing water, and then proceeded to enjoy the calm lake in silence and sun. Beautiful :)

went on this hike on Saturday morning. it was awesome! I enjoyed the varying scenery-- hiking through the woods, then the alpine meadows, and finally scrambling up rocks to get to the lookout tower. It was strenuous at times, but overall very much worth the 360 panoramic views at top. Also great b/c more remote, wild compared to other hikes in the North Bend area. Highly recommend.

WOW!! This is a surprisingly positive step in the Bush presidency. Too bad all the Abu Garib and Guantanamo Bay human rights violations had to occur to make this change in policy. I wonder if the CIA will actually comply...something tells me to the contrary.
