Salesforce.comが次に目指す世界がSaaS 2.0だ。同社が実現するSaaS 2.0では、アイデアから開発、掲載、プロモーション、販売、請求、回収までの一連のプロセスをライフサイクルとして提供する。具体的には、 IdeaExchangeでアイデアを出し、Apexで開発、AppExchangeでプロモーションを行い、AppStoreで販売するという仕組みを実現する。
「顧客企業は、コミュニティでアイデアや意見を交換し、アプリケーションを短期間に構築し、商業的な成功を収めることができる」と話す。IdeaExchangeで交換された意見やアイデアは、Salesforceの最新版である「Spring '07」にも反映されている。

We are ranked second (after salesforce) in uptake among medium sized organizations and would definitely like to see this grow and dominate this segment too in future versions :). CiviCRM v2.0 has a lot of the features and schema in place for us to make major gains in scalability and performance.
