Apple - Trailers - War, Inc. - Medium

wut? i've heard lots of good things about this film (apparently naomi klein and jeremy scahill are backing it), but this trailer has to be the worst possible trailer that could have been done for it...

uhg. Yea. I saw an interview with John on Democracy now last night and it seemed much more interesting than this trailer made it look. He was saying how he couldnt get military or much corporate support for the film and had to pay a lot out of pocket to make this film.

the stupid pop song trailer soundtrack, the highlights of the gimmickey comedy...yeah, this trailer makes the film look like 'i heart huckabees', but with military outsourcing instead of 'existentialism'. that may actually be giving the trailer too much credit...

Apple - Trailers - No End In Sight

Quoted: The first film of its kind to chronicle the reasons behind Iraq’s descent into guerilla war, warlord rule, criminality and anarchy, NO END IN SIGHT is a jaw-dropping, insider’s tale of wholesale incompetence, recklessness and venality. Based on over 200 hours of footage, the film provides a candid retelling of the events following the fall of Baghdad in 2003 by high ranking officials such as former Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage, Ambassador Barbara Bodine (in charge of Baghdad during the Spring of 2003), Colonel Lawrence Wilkerson, former Chief of Staff to Colin Powell, and General Jay Garner (in charge of the occupation of Iraq through May 2003), as well as Iraqi civilians, American soldiers and prominent analysts. NO END IN SIGHT examines the manner in which the principal errors of U.S. policy - the use of insufficient troop levels, allowing the looting of Baghdad, the purging of professionals from the Iraqi government and the disbanding of the Iraqi military - largely created the insurgency and chaos that engulf Iraq today.

Like Anna Karina's Sweater: From Director to Dictator: Kim Jong-il on the Art of Cinema

man, it'd be pretty sweet to watch some flics with kim jong-il...

Quoted: It's interesting to note that Kim never found a director who could actualize his vision, and as a result kidnapped South Korean director Shin Sang-ok and forced him to make propaganda films for over eight years...
