Saw this band the other night at the Bottle. Their punk songs were rad as fuck, though they came out claiming to be shifting toward reggae and a lot of people started leaving, which was kind of sad and kind of understandable. In any case, the rerelease of their songs is going up on the razor-sharp smiler.
Quoted: Newly unearthed recordings by the band Death reveal a remarkable missing link between the hard rock of Detroit bands and the high-velocity assault of punk of 1976 and ’77.

click to playso, for some reason, over the last three months this band keeps sneaking its way into my playlists, the songs that get suck in my head, and my general desire to listen to noisey discombobulating pop. this is probably their most straightforward song off of their self-titled release: a bubbly rendition of '4 little joeys' (it's on the smile blog). Lo-fi, generally off key, off beat, broken english through thick accents, endearing sound effects--beyond this song, Kiiiiiii is like a jumbler for u.s. pop culture that absurdly presents a swath of pastiche offerings in a totally bubble-gum fashion...
