The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sacked coach Geoff Lawson on Friday.A terse statement from PCB said: "The contract of Mr Geoff Lawson, coach Pakistan Cricket Team, has been terminated with immediate effect. He has been given his lawful dues."
The new PCB chairman Ejaz Butt had said on Monday that Lawson was "useless" but that he would see out the remainder of his contract.It is understood that Lawson will now be given three months' pay as compensation for termination of his contract.
